Trees can only be planted in the winter when they are dormant and have no leaves. If they are planted at other times of the year, then they do not grow very successfully because their roots are stressed by being moved. The exception to this is when trees are ‘container grown’ that is, they are grown in huge plant pots and they can be planted out without damaging the roots.
Therefore all our events are between the end of October and March.

Plant a Tree for Life - Family and Friends Day
The world needs more trees, but you can make a difference right here in your own City. If you sign up to PLANT A TREE FOR LIFE you can either come and help plant a Community Woodland, or we will plant several saplings with your donation.
For a donation of £25, you will receive the following:
• An invitation to attend a woodland planting day in Birmingham on Saturday 6th December 2008 where you can help plant large and small trees.
• A certificate commemorating your donation.
• Inclusion on the Roll of Honour on this website, where you will be able to see pictures of the planting day and the new Community Woodland.
You can PLANT A TREE FOR LIFE just for the fun of it, to celebrate a birthday or wedding or in memory of a loved one. You can come to the planting event on your own, or with friends and family.

Plant a Tree for Life - Business Day
Your business can make a difference in this City. If you sign up to PLANT A TREE FOR LIFE you and your colleagues can come and help plant a Community Woodland, or we will plant several saplings with your donation.
For a donation of £250, you will receive the following:
• An invitation for up to ten staff to attend a woodland planting day in Birmingham on Friday 5th December where you can help plant large and small trees.
• A chance to take photographs of the event with your logo and company name displayed
• A plaque commemorating your donation for display at your company
• Inclusion on the Roll of Honour on this website, where you will be able to see pictures of the planting day and the new Community Wood.
